The Wells Guitar Company

Vintage and Modern Instruments!

Established 1888

The Brazilian Rosewood special! This 12 fret cutaway has extraordinary old growth brazilian rosewood back and sides, headstock overlay, fretboard and bridge all cut from the same log. Very special. The Bay State soundring is also matching and very special in that it includes a beautiful pearl inlay to match the pearl on the headstock. This guitar has a 1 3/4” nut and has 2 1/4” spacing at the bridge making for an excellent fingerpicker’s instrument. It is certainly one of a kind!

Bay State Instrument Models

The Wells Guitar Company currently offers two distinct lines of Bay State instruments; the Vintage or the Modern.

The vintage models look like guitars from the early part of the 20th century. The object here was to reproduce instruments that remind us of the early development of the steel string guitar. The primary elements of these designs reflect a “slot head” headstock and neck joints at something other than the modern 14 fret to the body neck joint. If you want the authentic vintage “look” with modern build methods click the photo or go here.
